 Imagine dancing under the pouring rain like Maxon and America, or dating in secret from a whole kingdom just like Evlyn and Eric? Wouldn’t you want to live your fairytale love story just like Olive and Adam or Aaron and Catalina? Or would you want to make your own?

Well I may be 12 years old but I love to read romantic novels. Romance novels give a sense of satisfaction. Satisfaction of what you might ask … satisfaction of reading something with a happy ending, a goodbye hug or a first proper dance in the rain.Not only do romance books show the good but they show the ugly too. It’s not always sunshine and rainbows but anyways. Reading romance novels are also one of the most read genres in the world so its insanely easy to connect and talk to someone about books, so basically its a good topic to talk about when you're an introvert. Not only do romance books help broaden our empathy and understanding of people but they can be light or breezy so it's a fun read for all. Most Romance novels are made by women for women (90%).

One of the best parts of social media is its romance book recommendations. There are so many creators that give such good authors to read from. Actually one of the first romance novels beside the ones we read as children, was actually one that tik-tok recommended to me; Better than the movies. Better than the movies is one of the most classic, cheesy romance novels you will EVER read. I say this because you know she will end up with him but you still read, you still continue to read to enjoy the book. A really good series is The Selection Series. The selection series is one of the most phenomenal book series you will ever read. It not only shows bits of the future but of the past as well, it shows who will abuse the power that they are given. How people in higher casts use their power and strength against others. But even with this it’s still a romance book as it’s basically 35 girls selected to win over Prince Maxon's heart. Another series that is absolutely remarkable is the Shatter Me series. I’ll be honest there are 3 D’s, death, destruction and draaaaaama!! Lets not forget about the dark romance. I mean what is not to swoon over Aaron and Juliettes relationship. We can’t forget about the Aaron and Kenji banter that will forever be in my heart. Talking about Kenji, if I were to choose any character to be I would be Kenji. Kenji is the care-free person who over-thinks EVERYTHING. I think one of the reasons I would like him is because he has such a good relationship with everyone, especially Juliette. If platonic soulmates were real they would be exactly that. 

Reading romance is an escape and sometimes I find myself hoping I could live in that fantasy forever.
