I think we’ve all heard about the blonde with blue eyes named Taylor Swift. If you’re a Swiftie, then you’ll already know about the Famous Eras Tour. The tour, which is the biggest thing on Taylor’s agenda, quite literally broke the internet and fixed the US economy. I think you know the one I'm talking about. If you're anything like me and you've been following this tour religiously, then you'll know exactly what I'm going to be talking about. I'm talking about the epic and enchanting (I was enchanted to meet you 🎶) Speak Now Taylor's Version announcement.
With the change of a controversial lyrics (iykyk) to the new Speak Now dress which is absolutely drop dead gorgeous (you're too gorgeous 🎶). Speak Now TV was released on July 7th, which ironically was 7/7, and the announcement was on May 5th, which was 5/5. You see where I'm going with this? Both of those numbers are doubles. Talking about numbers, this album was re-recorded in 2022 but was only released in 2023, when she was 33. However, she re-recorded the album when she was 32, which is ironic because in the song Innocent, she wrote about Kanye West at the age of 19, which mentions the age of 32. This brought so much love from her fans, and I just thought it was worth mentioning. Speak Now has overthrown Red (Taylor's Version) and made it look small in comparison. And that's what we love to see.
Speak Now was announced in her home city of Nashville, where she and her mom moved so that Taylor could pursue her career, leaving her dad and younger brother behind. She announced it in such a way that her fans just knew what was coming. Let’s see what she says.
“I think rather than me speaking about it,” she said, to screams as fans realized from the language that the long-awaited announcement was at hand, “I thought I would show you, so if you would direct your attention” to the big screens... There, the album cover and release date were shown before Swift launched into the track “Sparks Fly” as a surprise song.
Now if you think that was epic, let me just tell you that on July 7th she added a new song to the set list. Long Live. Long Live is the song she wrote for the fans and has such a deep meaning, so I think you can see why it was just the best song to add to the set list on the day of the release and why it meant so much to the fans.
Now if you aren’t a swiftie, then you might be asking yourself: Why is she re-recording her albums?
Well, let me tell you, it's a long story. To cut a long story short, Taylor's first six albums were stolen, or bought, as some people like to call them, for a variety of reasons, but we aren’t here to delve into that. So far, she’s re-recorded three albums, with one on the way, which include Red (Taylor’s Version), Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). Notice how I said with 1 on the way? Yes, you did read that right! Taylor has now announced the release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). The rumors were terrible and cruel, but this time, one of them was true.
After a whole lot of fan speculation about how Taylor was going to announce 1989 (Taylor’s Version) as the last day of the US leg, which ironically was 8/9, she actually did it! She was wearing a whole lot of blue, and the fans just knew! During her acoustic set, wearing a brand new blue outfit for the special occasion, she said, and I quote, “Here we are on the last night of the U.S. leg of the Eras tour in the eighth month of the year on the ninth day. You might have noticed there are some new outfits in the show.”
“There's something that I've been planning for a really, really, really ridiculously, embarrassingly long time, and instead of telling you about it, I think I'll just sort of show you," she said, unveiling the cover and release date, which is October 27th, for 1989 (Taylor's Version) on the big screen.
Imagine the shock that that crowd had! It was wild. Taylor ended the acoustic set with the song “New Romantics,” which is a bonus track on 1989 (the deluxe version). Let me just tell you, that crowd went wild! Especially with the Easter egg that was right in front of their eyes. The 5 seagulls in the picture showcase the 5 vault tracks that will be released with the released songs in 1989 (Taylor’s Version).
After the announcement of 1989, a lot of Swifties have been saying that she looks so happy on the cover, especially with the deep meaning behind 1989.
Taylor Swift has come a long way from where she began, and I think we can all agree on that. She became a 12-time Grammy winner in the most difficult of categories for a girl who was pursuing country music. She's swapped genres midway through her career. You name it, she's done it.
