The fluffy clouds loom over me like cotton candy fresh from the carnival. Silky smooth sand between my toes. The crystal, tranquil water ahead of me, like an endless abyss. The sun, shining, so bright. The bliss of summer finally setting in, unlike any other. Summer. Finally, it was here.
Aren't we all excited for summer? That warm feeling of happiness as it's so close yet so far? You know that feeling? But let me just tell you, it's never too early to start planning your vacation. So let's get you a head start.
What are the best places to visit in the summer of 2023? Some of the best places are varied, for example for a swiftie like me, my ideal place would be literally wherever she’s performing whether that be the USA or Brazil, I honestly couldn’t care less. But for today we will be talking about the most popular places to visit in the summer of 23.
First on this list is the “City of Love”. Paris offers iconic landmarks which families and couples can enjoy. You can explore the divine pastries in the charming neighborhoods. There are so many places to visit within Paris, some being the obvious ones like the Louvre, to see Mona Lisa, and Eiffel Tower to see the “City of Lights” from up above. With every city comes their hidden places. You can explore the “abandoned” site of Petite Ceinture or maybe the elegant yet romantic site of Musée de la Vie Romantique.
The next place is Bali. Bali is in Indonesia, which before writing this article I didn’t know. You learn something new everyday right? Anyways, Bali is a tropical paradise which offers breathtaking beaches, luscious rice terraces, ancient temples and a really vibrant cultural scene. Bali is the perfect place for relaxation, you know, the best time to get those mani-pedis 😉. Regardless, it is also a really great place for sport buffs as they actually offer water sports which can also be done with friends and family. I also recommend artists to go exploring within the depths of Bali for their traditional Balinese arts and crafts which is an excellent family activity.
Third on this list is for the History lovers out there. This city is steeped in history. Rome is home to the most ancient ruins which are buried in history. This is a great place for an educational trip but also a way to admire the beautiful and breathtaking architecture. The fabulous architecture can be seen in places like St. Peter’s Basilica, while people who enjoy more of a history lessons can go to places like the world famous Colosseum or maybe the Roman Forum. There are so many world-class museums in the city of Rome but let’s not forget to remind the foodies out there that they need to go to Rome. Rome is the prime spot for the most delicious, scrumptious, most authentic Italian food which, might I add, includes pizzas and gelato! Which, in my opinion, is amazing.
Maybe you want to enjoy your vacation with a twist. Maybe a spontaneous visit to one of the biggest Mega-cities in the world. Then I would say Tokyo, Japan is the place for you to be. The experience is a fascinating blend of tradition and modernity in Tokyo. With the bright lights to the cherry blossom groves. These places are exceptionally consuming. Not only is Tokyo known for its amazing city features, it's also known for its ancient temples. To explore ancient temples is a prime want in any history buff's bucket list. To wander through bustling neighborhoods like Shibuya and Shinjuku, and enjoy delicious sushi and ramen. While I personally don’t like sushi, I think that a lot of people do, so if you are a foodie, I think this is where you ought to be.
Do you like drives with a little bit of an adventure? Well, if you do, then Cape Town, South Africa, is the perfect place for you. This diverse and gorgeous city boasts stunning natural beauty, including Table Mountain and nearby wine regions. For the parents out there, personally, I think you deserve a break. You can enjoy wildlife safaris with the adventure and fear which will set into your bones once on the safari. You can explore vibrant markets with all the cultural diversity present, and soak up the sun on picturesque beaches. In my opinion with the wine regions, chefs kiss. Just kidding!
The next vacation spot is a common uncommon vacation spot. A lot of people think that ‘oh everyone’s been here,’ but then in reality very few people actually have visited. This next place would be the “Big Apple”. New York City offers a vibrant mix of culture, entertainment, and iconic landmarks. This is the best city for your summer shopping although it will also take your breath away in the winter. Visiting Times Square was one of my personal favorite places to visit. It had so many different shops including the M&M shop which is extremely underrated (if you can’t tell, I loved it there). Central Park is spectacular. There are so many activities to do there and the best part is you can have some practice with the automated bikes that the city offers, and trust me, they are so fun. The Statue of Liberty has its own island, which is amazing, and on top of that, the city has world-renowned museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Unfortunately our time with these vacation spots have come to an end. Although there are so many more places to visit such as Sydney, Machu Picchu, Santorini and Rio de Janeiro we can’t go through all of them. I know, I know it's such a bummer but with this I conclude this article done. I hope you all have a fantastic summer break!!
